Job Description
Your mission:
Join us to make agriculture more sustainable!
Are you a highly technical wizard who thrives on solving the toughest hardware and software challenges? Do you want to be the critical link between cutting-edge R&D and world-class customer service to help make agriculture more sustainable?
Phenospex is looking for a 3rd Level Support Engineer to be the ultimate escalation point and technical advocate, reporting directly to our CCO.
You will serve as the top-tier technical interface across our entire organization (R&D, Portfolio, Production, Quality, Sales and Service). Your primary goal is to ensure expert, third-level technical after-sales support to our 2nd level team as well as to our global customer base. You won't just fix problems; you'll analyse them, document them and turn them into insights that directly drive product improvement.
Key responsibilities
• Diagnose complex failures (using Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and prioritise all incoming technical requests.
• Mentor the 2nd Level Support team and serve as their reliable technical backup.
• Propose solutions for recurring issues and submit formal development requests to R&D.
• Actively ensure serviceability is integrated into all new hardware and software developments.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of all Phenospex products for rapid diagnosis.
• Track fixes, perform functional QA tests and analyse ticket data to drive strategic product and process improvements.
• Conduct occasional on-site customer visits to resolve critical 3rd level issues.
Your profile:
You’re a great collaborator and very organised with exceptional analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ideally, you also have:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Automation, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in a similar technical role.
• Excellent technical aptitude with programming skills (C/C++ is a plus).
• Proficiency with Linux (Debian) operating system and commands.
• Database experience is a plus (SQL).
• High attention to detail as well as the ability to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Driver’s licence and the flexibility to travel for occasional on-site support.
Why choose us?:
• We prioritize in-house value creation, only outsourcing what we cannot confidently do ourselves.
• Our processes don’t own us – we own them. If they don’t help us, we change them.
• We encourage your participation and offer lots of room for personal and professional growth.
• We offer a competitive and performance-oriented compensation package.
Work flexible hours with up to 50% of your time remote.
• Enjoy 6 weeks of paid vacation each year, plus an extra day off on your birthday – because the best gift is extra time!
• Build your ideal tech setup, including a high-performance laptop, state-of-the-art noise-cancelling headset. Whether it’s Windows, Linux, or Apple – it’s your tech, so it’s your choice.
• Celebrate with us at regular team events and two annual parties.
• Work in our spacious office with modern facilities on our green campus.
• Challenge your colleagues to a game of table soccer (we take it seriously!), then enjoy free drinks, great coffee, healthy snacks … and a sugar fix too!
• Bring your dog to work. Our office is dog-friendly!
• We have a fast and streamlined onboarding process that allows you to start making your impact quickly.
If you're ready to work with a crazy team that believes it can change the world and are keen to gain valuable experience with our international company, we’d love to hear from you!
