We are looking for a Thermo-Mechanical Architect on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Campi Bisenzio, Florence, Italy. Please be informed this position requires full on-site support. Please also note that the initial assignment will be based in Campi Bisenzio, Italy, for a duration of 2 years, with the possibility of relocating later to Rome/Frascati, depending on the employer’s needs.

As the Lead Thermal Mechanical Architect, you will have the unique opportunity to drive technical excellence, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and deliver solutions that will define the next generation of space systems.
Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).
The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:
• Lead and be the end responsible for the technical definition and development of the thermal and mechanical architecture of a complex space system;
• Lead a hybrid team;
• Own the thermo-mechanical subsystem across all project phases: requirements definition, design, analysis, assembly, integration and testing;
• Act as the main point of contact for the thermo-mechanical subsystem with internal and external stakeholders;
• Manage, coordinate and supervise a thermo-mechanical project team composed of mechanical designers, thermal engineers/analysts and structural engineers/analysts;
• Review the work executed by the thermo-mechanical team and ensure compliance with the applicable procedures and standards;
• Support and participate in environmental test campaigns (TVAC, vibration, etc.);
• Contribute to supplier selection and procurement from a technical standpoint (e.g. by writing technical specifications);
• Ensure high-quality technical documentation and clear reporting.
