Role overview
We're looking for dedicated and patient-focused Theatre Assistants to join our Shrewsbury theatre team on a fixed term basis. We are happy to consider full or part time applications; candidates will be expected to work some weekends.
You'll play an active role in the theatre pathway, supporting patients and the multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and positive patient journey.
What you'll do
Support patients through their full surgical pathway, from admissions to theatre and discharge.
Assist in preparing theatre, conducting safety checks, and supporting the scrub nurse and theatre team.
Provide patient care during discharge, including information on post-surgical care.
Maintain accurate records and documentation with a focus on patient safety.
Put patients at ease, working in a calm and process-driven way to deliver excellent care.
What we're looking for
We're after someone who's not only organised and efficient but also passionate about people and services. Ideally you'll bring:
Previous experience in a healthcare or surgical environment is an advantage.
Proven clinical and or administrative skills with the enjoyment of the routine and rhythm of a process driven and regulated environment.
A passion for healthcare and supporting patients.
Committed to deliver consistently high standards of care to patients.
Confident user of Office 365 and tech systems (training provided).
Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
A team player mentality with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
Ability to manage competing priorities with calm and clarity.
An understanding of CQC standards (advantageous).
