Job Description

Join the Appen team as an Independent Contractor for Project Armanda.

Project Armanda is seeking individuals for an ongoing, ad-hoc project involving the rating of text-to-speech audio clips. In this role, you will listen to various audio segments read in German and rate them based on how each voice sounds according to specific task questions. This task is entirely opinion-based and requires no prior experience in linguistics or audio processing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Listen to audio clips read in German
- Rate the quality and clarity of each voice according to the provided criteria
- Complete tasks within 2–3 days of receiving them
- Use Appen’s ADAP tool for all rating tasks (accessible via Chrome or Firefox on a computer)

Key Requirements:
- Must have access to a computer with Chrome or Firefox (mobile devices are not compatible)
- Must have a stable internet connection
- Must be a native speaker of German, currently located in Germany

Important Note:
You will be contacted via email by a project team member when a task becomes available, along with a link and instructions on how to begin. The pay rate will differ for each task and will be included in the kickoff emails (please disregard the $0.01/task placeholder currently listed against the project).

This role is a project-based opportunity with CrowdGen, where you will join the CrowdGen Community as an Independent Contractor. If selected, you will receive an email from CrowdGen regarding the creation of an account using your application email address. You will need to log in to this account and reset the password, complete the setup requirements, and proceed with your application for this project-based role.
