PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson’s infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.
The Testing & Commissioning Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of testing and commissioning activities across the PACT program. This role assists with system readiness, documentation, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination to ensure systems are tested, commissioned, and handed over in compliance with contractual, safety, regulatory, and operational requirements within a live airport environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the coordination of testing and commissioning activities across assigned systems and sub-programs
Assist with preparation, tracking, and maintenance of Testing & Commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures
Coordinate testing activities for electrical, mechanical, controls, and integrated systems under the direction of the T&C Manager
Liaise with design, construction, quality, safety, and operations teams to align commissioning activities with project schedules and site constraints
Track system readiness, testing progress, and outstanding deficiencies
Support system integration testing, functional testing, and operational readiness activities
Assist with preparation and maintenance of commissioning documentation, including test records, punch lists, and turnover packages
Participate in testing reviews, readiness meetings, and system handover discussions
Monitor and report commissioning issues and risks, escalating as required
Support phased turnovers, interim operations, and early beneficial use activities where applicable
Ensure commissioning activities comply with applicable standards, procedures, and project requirements
Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement of testing and commissioning processes
WORK CONDITIONS
The position will be based at Toronto Pearson International Airport, with regular onsite presence required. This position is 5 days per week with core hours of work between approximately 8:00am–5:00pm with 1 hour lunch or as agreed upon with your manager. All employees must complete a RAIC and Criminal background check.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES
Diploma or degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
5+ years of experience supporting testing and commissioning activities on infrastructure or building projects
Basic to intermediate understanding of electrical, mechanical, and controls systems
Experience supporting commissioning in live or operational environments
Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage interfaces across design and construction teams
Strong organizational, documentation, and schedule-tracking skills
Familiarity with commissioning documentation, test records, and turnover processes
Experience working on design-build or progressive design-build projects is an asset
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-risk project environments
