Job Description:

Must Haves

• Data warehousing experience

• Data Modeling (Logical or physical experience)

• Expertise writing complex SQL (This is good enough to be able to teach them Teradata)

Nice to Haves

• ETL

• Load Utilities of Teradata (BTEQ, Fast Load, TPump, etc…)

Job Description:

• Expertise in writing, re-writing and dissecting complex SQL queries using multiple join conditions, case statements, arithmetic, aggregate functions and query tuning/optimization techniques-Required.

• In depth, practical knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts-Required. Teradata background in particular preferred but not required.

• Strong Experience in performance tuning-required. With Teradata specifically-preferred.

• Strong expertise in reengineering system applications and processes-preferred.

• Experience with Teradata utilities like BTEQ,FASTLOAD,MLOAD, TPUMP, FASTEXPORT and Query manager-Strongly preferred.

• Strong expertise in understanding data modeling involving logical and physical data model-preferred.

• Experience in designing processes involving Star/Snowflake schema and creating source to target data mapping based on the project needs-preferred.

• Experience in implementing data Warehouse applications re: ETL. Ability to design, build, deploy and support end to end ETL processes-preferred.

• Exposure and ideally hands on experience with as many of the following as possible (strongly preferred):

• Teradata SQL Assistant

• Business Objects

• Cognos

• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. Self-motivated, quick learner and team player-Required.

• Active listening skills and assertiveness in negotiating the requirements based on project needs. Strong experience in estimating effort based on requirements-strongly preferred.

• Experience with testing tools like the HPQC/QTP to develop test plans and test scripts-strongly preferred.

• Experience in conducting trainings and handling meetings with users, project managers, analysts, developers-preferred.
