SUMMARY:
The Oak Brook Park District is seeking a dynamic senior tennis professional with proven leadership skills who has the
ability to retain and expand a large junior and adult tennis program.
SUPERVISORY:
The Tennis Professional reports directly to the Superintendent of Enterprise Operations with supervisory assistance from Tennis Directors.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
➢ Deliver high-quality programming during scheduled group and private lessons
Follow the curriculum, coaching philosophy guidelines, and apply the coaching
principles.
Follow and promote the junior training system’s guidelines and adult training pathway.
Provide a good social and energetic learning environment in all group lessons.
Follow the best practices guidelines and take accurate attendance.
➢ Increase student’s enthusiasm and participation in sport
Motivate players to enjoy the game.
Promote weekly practices, athletic training, in-house competitions and events.
Assist in coaching the teams and running events and tournaments.
➢ Take student’s game to the next level
Identify the next playing level for students.
Guide the practices in order to take the player’s game to the next level.
Show student improvement results.
➢ Communication with students/parents
Communicate with students/parents and Tennis Directors about student’s progress.
Complete student evaluation forms and participate in student/parent meetings.
➢ Increase programming department revenue
Ensure student retention through quality programming.
Increase programming participation for the assigned group and private lessons.
