Position Description

Are you a skilled Industrial Painter looking for a dynamic opportunity? We're seeking a meticulous and safety-conscious individual to join our team at Mercer Celgar in Castlegar BC.

Core Responsibilities
A Red Seal Industrial Painter that is a highly skilled and certified professional responsible for the expert application of protective coatings in demanding industrial environments. We're looking for someone who excels with minimal supervision and possesses extensive industrial experience.
Advanced Surface Preparation: Meticulous preparation, including abrasive blasting, to ensure optimal coating adhesion and longevity.
Specialized Coating Application: Applying a wide range of industrial coatings (e.g., epoxies, urethanes, fireproofing) using advanced spray systems and other techniques, meeting strict quality and thickness specifications.
Technical Interpretation: Reading and interpreting complex blueprints, specifications, and technical data sheets.
Quality Assurance: Performing in-process and post-application quality control checks, including film thickness measurements.
Safety & Compliance: Adhering rigorously to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and hazardous material handling procedures.
Equipment Mastery: Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialized industrial painting equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualified Red Seal Endorsement: Must possess an Interprovincial Red Seal Trade Qualification in the Painter trade.
Industrial Experience: A minimum of 5 years of dedicated industrial painting experience, demonstrating exceptional knowledge of industrial applications and specialized coatings.
Salary
As per the Joint Labour Agreement the rate of pay is $52.68 per hour
