This position is for a Construction Manager for GoNetspeed, an independently owned high-speed internet provider. This position would require significant time traveling to the job sites and working in an office environment. The position requires managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficiency and timely completion. Communicate and coordinate with internal departments and construction contractors as necessary to guarantee project deadlines and commitments are met on time. Travel to job sites to document ongoing job status updates and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise.

Essential Job Functions:

· Responsible for assisting in designing and developing outside plant equipment installation, modifications, upgrades, and construction activities.

· Assist in the planning, analyzing, and recommending new construction of outside plant network structures and facilities.

· Assist the permitting team with State, Local, and Federal agencies.

· Responsible for acquiring field data.

· Responsible for overseeing construction activities.

· Responsible for receiving project materials.

· Responsible for issuing project materials.

· Responsible for tracking and reporting materials.

· Review construction design and ride out construction area prior to start, to mitigate issues.

· Responsible for ensuring all construction is completed to all GoNetspeed QC standards.

· Responsible for tracking the production of the project to ensure deadlines are met.

· Ensure contractors abide by all Dig Safe standards as well as OSHA standards.

· Responsible for gathering and reviewing all contractor as-builts to ensure accuracy and sending them to the mapping department for system entry.

· Responsible for reviewing and approving contractor invoicing.

· Willing to travel within and outside GoNetspeed’s current footprint when called upon.

· Interact with residents and Town Officials to address issues in a timely manner.

· All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Experience with Google Maps/Earth, Adobe Acrobat, Excel and Microsoft Office.

· Knowledge of standard practices in Telecommunications.

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Knowledge of construction services, ordering and installing the following: Fiber and general Aerial/Underground construction supplies.

· Basic knowledge of Fiber Splicing.

· Knowledge of warehousing, tracking, and dispersing of materials.

· Customer service skills pertaining to construction-related activities.

· Attention to detail is paramount.

· Ability to read and interpret construction prints.

· Must be able to make field decisions and changes in design when needed.

· Ability to work independently on multifaceted projects.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills to present facts clearly and accurately.

· Experience working to tight deadlines

· Must be able to work overtime as required.

· Conflict resolution skills preferred but not required.

· Must have a clean & valid Driver’s License.

· Must be able to pass a DOT physical & Drug Test.

Education and Experience:

· 5+ years of Telecom project management experience preferred

· Knowledge of Telecom construction

· High School diploma

· Associate degree preferred

· Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office

· Experience in managing is preferred, but not required.
