Talan seeks an experienced Technology Project Lead – Digital Transformation Energy & Utilies

Talan is seeking an experienced Technology Project Manager with specific energy and utility focus.  The senior is responsible for leading strategic technology initiatives that modernize an organization’s digital landscape. This critical role focuses on delivering for Cloud / Data / Digital Transformation, with specific expertise on: 

• Cloud migrations
• Data platform implementations
• Automation projects
• Enterprise integrations

All digital transformation programs that drive operational efficiency, customer experience, and business value. The Project Manager ensures all initiatives are delivered with strong governance, compliance, quality, and alignment to enterprise architecture and transformation strategy.

• Project Planning & Initiation:• Develop detailed project charters, business cases, scope documents, and implementation roadmaps.
• Conduct impact assessments, resource planning, and stakeholder mapping.
• Integration to a single platform existing SCADA, network balancing, metering, trading components interfaces
• Help develop a clear GenAI focused implementation strategy

• Execution & Delivery:• Drive project execution across cloud, data, and digital teams with clarity on roles, deliverables, and timelines.
• Use project management tools (e.g., MS Project, PWA, Jira) to track tasks, dependencies, and milestones.
• Manage vendor engagements, contracts, SLAs, and performance.

• Monitoring & Controlling:• Maintain detailed RAID logs, ensure effective risk mitigation, and proactively escalate critical blockers.
• Track KPIs, budget utilization, resource allocation, and project health metrics.
• Ensure all solutions comply with IT security, architecture standards, and governance frameworks.

• Communication & Stakeholder Management:• Present project updates to leadership, steering committees, and business stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and design reviews.
• Support change management activities including training, communication plans, and adoption strategies.

• Project Closure:• Ensure completion of all deliverables, user acceptance, documentation, and transition to operations/support teams.
• Conduct lessons learned and knowledge transfer sessions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 12–15 years of experience managing technology projects.
• 5+ years of experience managing projects focused on cloud, data, or digital transformation.
• Proven experience delivering Azure/AWS cloud migrations, enterprise data solutions, system integrations, and digital platforms.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cybersecurity fundamentals, and IT infrastructure.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, SCRUM Master, or Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS) are highly desirable

• Strong project leadership and ability to manage cross-functional technical teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and vendor negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to simplify complex technical requirements.
• Expertise in PMO methodologies, SDLC, Agile frameworks, and hybrid delivery models.
• Proficiency in MS Project, PWA, Jira, Confluence, and BI dashboards.

• Successful delivery of cloud, data, and digital transformation initiatives on time and within scope.
• Stakeholder satisfaction and adoption rates.
• Compliance with IT governance, cybersecurity, and architectural standards.
• Reduction in manual processes and increase in automation.
• Efficiency improvements, cost optimization, or value creation from delivered projects
