Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage Major Incident and problem review calls for cash & payment critical systems
• Lead resiliency initiatives and legacy modernization initiatives for critical payment systems including ISO 20022 migration projects
• Coordinate major application migration and go-live events in production collaborating with IT command Center, Development team, Infrastructure team, observability team and Business stakeholders.
• Lead Disaster Recovery exercise and automate the tasks
• Enforce standards, processes, controls, and procedures for incident handling, reduce Mean Time to Restore Service (MTRS) and prevent recurrence.
• Ensure governance for high-impact events and weekend changes in production
• Document cash and payment Business workflows to improve speed and accuracy for handling critical payment impacting issues.
• Monitor payment processing cycles, batch jobs, and settlement windows.
• Ensure timely processing of inbound/outbound SWIFT payments, ACH files and Fed Wires.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within SLA timelines.
• Analyze application logs, system alerts, failed payment transactions and reconciliation breaks
• Investigate duplicate transactions and settlement discrepancies.
• Execute SQL queries for transaction validation and data analysis.
• Ensure processes are standardized, documented, and aligned with ITIL best practices.
• Deliver actionable insights through dashboards and presentations for senior leadership.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
• A minimum of bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems or any branch of Science, Engineering or Technology
• A minimum of 10 years of IT experience with hands-on experience in technology support/SRE functions
• Proven experience in IT Service Management, including but not limited to Change Management, Incident and Problem management.
• Knowledge of SDLC / Engineering processes and methodologies
• Domain Knowledge: Good understanding of payment rails (ACH, Wire, RTP) and banking operations to interpret transaction failures within regulations. Knowledge of high-value RTGS and instant payment systems (e.g., CHAPS, FedWire, CHIPS, SEPA).
• ISO 20022 Proficiency, Data Modeling & Mapping: Requires deep expertise in financial messaging standards (SWIFT MT and XML-based ISO 20022). Ability to map legacy formats (MT) to ISO 20022 XML formats and manage schema changes.
• Proven experience in ISO 20022 migration projects.
• Compliance & Security: Familiarity with AML, KYC and sanction screening protocols, which are improved by rich ISO 20022 data.
• Monitoring, Ticketing & automation Tools: Expertise in Monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, AppDynamics, Geneos), ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, JIRA), Automation tool (AaaS, BluePrism, Cutover) etc. preferred.
• Dashboarding tools: Proficiency in Excel and visualization tools for KPI dashboards
• Database Expertise (SQL/NoSQL): Crucial for analyzing transaction logs, tracing payments, and performing data correction in environments like Oracle or SQL Server.
• Operating System & Scripting: Proficiency in Linux/Unix is essential, alongside scripting languages like Bash or Python for automation and log analysis. Experience in supporting AWS based applications.
• Other technical skills: Java or Python, Autosys, IBM MQ, Kafka, MFX, NDM, Websphere, Exadata, XML/JSON technologies, private and public cloud services
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, strong communication and inter-personal skills in presenting complex issues to senior stakeholders, attention to detail, ability to remain calm under pressure during critical, time-sensitive incidents and deliver on tight schedules
• Availability for weekend and on-call coverage.
• Experience in leading a geographically distributed and diverse team
Salary Range:
$125,000 - $215,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
