Summer wages are $19 - $22 per hour

Landscapers By Nature Ltd. (LBN) is an established leader in the landscape maintenance and snow removal market in Calgary. We deliver premium landscaping and snow removal services to large apartment and townhome communities.

Position Type & Schedule:  Winter is on-call - we work when Mother Nature says we do! 

*Pay Scale Based on Experience, Skills and Qualifications in the Landscape and snow removal industry. Summer wages equal $19 - 22 per hour, with room to grow up to $25 per hour. In the Winter, we pay an additional $5.00 per hour.

Summary:

The snow removal technician is responsible for the safe and productive removal of snow and ice from our customer job sites, walkways, and traffic areas using shovels, snow blowers and other equipment as directed.

Job Duties:

Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events

Your manager will reach out to your team nightly to discuss the plan for the following day, so you are always in the loop of what to expect for work

Prepare and show up for shifts free from the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or medicines that influence safety or productivity

Clear snow and ice accumulations from customer sites from designated areas using shovels, snowblowers, salt spreaders and bagged salt

Pile snow in designated and approved locations only

Be available for communication at all times

Document and report any obstacles at site(s)

Conduct pre-shift inspections and maintenance on all small equipment

Perform basic maintenance and small repairs on small equipment as required

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

Comply with all company policies and procedures

Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

Requirements:

Ability to read and interpret maps

Physically fit with strong stamina

Ability to follow safe working procedures

Good observation skills and attention to detail

Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)

Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team

Strong adherence to our safety policies and protocol

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Work Conditions:

Various locations, mainly apartment and townhome complexes

Extremely flexible working hours, including weekend, and holiday work

Consistent lifting of around 50 lbs. repeatedly

Working safely near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis

Working outdoors in various conditions including extreme cold, rain, dust, noise, and wet conditions

Preference given to individuals that:

Like minded people to ours that want to participate in the growth of our business, and take advantage of the opportunities that come along with it.

Have done outdoor labour work before, and understand the challenges that come with it - or are very keen to learn.

Nice To Have Qualifications

Previous landscaping, snow removal and/or maintenance experience

Valid Class 5 license & ability to drive truck and trailer
