Technical Writer –Product Documentation

Alpega is looking for a Technical Writer to help translate the evolving capabilities of our digital logistics platforms into documentation that is clear, accurate, and actionable for both customers and integration partners. This is a role based in Barcelona, Spain.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our platform ecosystem continues to evolve rapidly, we are establishing a documentation function that can scale in step with ongoing development. To support this, we’re looking for someone with experience in building and rolling out documentation systems, who deeply understands the role of documentation as a driver of business value, and who knows how to leverage AI to streamline repetitive documentation tasks while maintaining strong human oversight to ensure quality and consistency.

In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure that Alpega’s platforms are understandable, adoptable, and integration-ready for users and partners worldwide.

Core Responsibilities

Documentation Delivery

Develop and maintain technical documentation for Alpega platform capabilities, APIs, and workflows

Produce structured, task-oriented content supporting onboarding, integration, and operational usage

Review and refine documentation contributed by engineers and product teams for consistency and correctness

Improve information architecture, discoverability, and navigation based on platform usage patterns

Coordinate documentation priorities in line with product releases and roadmap initiatives

Define and uphold documentation standards, terminology, and style guidelines

Cross-Team Enablement

Serve as the primary documentation liaison between Product, Engineering, and Customer Service

Capture feedback from internal stakeholders and external users to continuously improve clarity and usability

AI-Augmented Documentation Workflows

Champion AI-supported documentation processes to improve coverage and time-to-publish

Design workflows that detect documentation gaps from commits, pull requests, or release notes

Apply AI tooling responsibly, with human validation as a built-in quality safeguard

Keep documentation aligned with rapidly evolving automation initiatives

Process & Quality

Implement and mature documentation practices

Introduce automated validation for documentation completeness and structure

Define KPIs around documentation adoption, engagement, and effectiveness

Optimize documentation processes using usage data and stakeholder feedback

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU

Minimum 3 years in a Technical Writing or Developer Documentation role

Familiarity with documentation-as-code environments (Git, Markdown, static site generators)

Experience documenting APIs (OpenAPI / Swagger is a strong advantage)

Ability to understand complex platform workflows and communicate them to varied audiences

Comfortable working in close collaboration with Product Managers and Engineering teams

Communication & Ownership

Excellent written English (near-native level)

Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and business teams

Structured, proactive approach to managing parallel documentation streams

Able to combine day-to-day execution with longer-term documentation improvements

Tooling & Mindset

Experience with modern documentation platforms and publishing pipelines

Hands-on usage of AI-assisted writing and automation tools

Analytical mindset with an interest in measuring documentation impact
