What you’ll achieve
As a Technical Writer – EHR, you will create clear, structured, and high-quality documentation that enables internal and client teams, across all phases of delivery and all aspects of the product, to effectively understand, develop, and operate within the Dedalus EHR lifecycle. Working with this highly skilled team, you will be making a great impact throughout the healthcare sector.
Success in this role requires strong technical writing capability, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to manage documentation through structured development and approval workflows in a complex delivery environment.
You will
• Collaborate with product, clinical, technical, and implementation stakeholders to gather information and define documentation requirements
• Facilitate alignment and agreement on content, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency across contributors
• Develop and maintain a structured documentation library covering product, implementation, and operational processes across the EHR lifecycle
• Produce high-quality artefacts including user guides, configuration guides, SOPs, process documentation, knowledge base articles, and release documentation
• Translate complex system functionality, workflows, and technical configurations into clear, concise, and user-friendly content
• Align documentation with system configuration, release cycles, and project delivery timelines
• Maintain version control and ensure documentation is current, traceable, and aligned with system changes
• Structure and organise content within knowledge management platforms (e.g. Confluence), ensuring usability and accessibility
• Support implementation and support teams with clear, practical documentation, including troubleshooting guides and FAQs
• Enable reuse and modularisation of content to support scalability across multiple implementations
• Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation practices, incorporating feedback and lessons learned
Essential Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Health Informatics, IT, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience using documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, and Jira
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation authoring tools
• 3–5 years’ experience in technical writing, preferably within healthcare, EHR/EMR, or enterprise software environments
• Demonstrated experience developing documentation across product, project, and operational domains
• Strong experience working in collaborative environments, engaging multiple stakeholders to gather, validate, and approve content
• Proven ability to manage documentation through structured review and approval processes
• Strong ability to translate technical and functional concepts into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation
• Familiarity with software development and implementation lifecycles (e.g. Agile, release management, deployment processes)
Desirable Requirements
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems, particularly ORBIS or similar clinical information systems
• Formal training or certification in technical writing, documentation, or information design (desirable but not mandatory)
• Understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations (e.g. inpatient, outpatient, perioperative settings)
• Experience supporting large-scale system implementations or digital transformation programs
• Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and knowledge base design for support teams
• Experience developing technical, integration, or API documentation
• Understanding of governance, approval, and quality assurance processes for documentation
