This role covers the management, maintenance and support of all Infrastructure Hosting responsibilities within a Healthcare Managed Service account. The successful candidate will have experience in working within Data Centres, an ability to fault find and replace parts within physical compute and storage. Good working knowledge of VMware and Windows Server Operating Systems including File Services, PKI, AD, DNS and DHCP with good general troubleshooting skills.  

While employees at this level will receive instruction or assistance in technical areas as required to extend and grow their experience, they will be expected to work independently, use their own initiative, whilst driving continuous service improvements with the Infrastructure Hosting estate.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Representative for Infrastructure Hosting Team, working alongside other supporting teams
• Responsible for day-to-day service, infrastructure and platform checks
• Patching of enterprise managed service estate
• Troubleshooting and support of Linux environments
• Troubleshooting and support of VMware virtualised environment
• Troubleshooting and support of large Microsoft Windows estate
• Assisting in the fault finding and replacing of parts in physical compute and storage in local Data Centre and DR
• Assisting in the stability of all servers and services to ensure SLA Compliance
• Working in a team environment under direction of an SDM
• Assisting in the completion of BAU Incidents, Tasks to resolve end user issues
• In addition to the above duties and responsibilities the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity change the general character or level of responsibility to the post.

Skills and qualities required:

• Good working Linux based Operating System
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Server / Datacentre / Compute / Storage solutions
• Good working knowledge with regards to the administration and troubleshooting of the following Microsoft technologies (AD, DNS, DHCP, RDS, File Services, Certificate Services, Server Administration 2012, 2016,2019 and 2022)
• Knowledge of VMware vSphere
• Good working knowledge of incident, problem and change management processes and procedures
• Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause
• A working knowledge of general networking (e.g. routing, firewall, wireless AP)

Skills and qualities desired:

• An understanding of HPE compute / storage
• An understanding of Microsoft SCCM
• An understanding of VMware and virtualised environments
• An understanding of SQL Server
• An understanding of Veeam Backup Technologies
• An understanding of Microsoft SCCM
• An understanding of Enterprise/Event Management
• Any other relevant Education / Qualifications or certifications
