The Technical Project Manager will work with one of our clients to drive technical adoption of the Hadoop ecosystem into one of the world’s largest financial services providers. They will work with client and Technical and Engagement teams to ensure the project is completed on time and with cross-functional stakeholders over several years and projects.
This role reports to the Engagement Manager and manages customer projects to increase satisfaction by overhauling technology and data warehousing, ensuring that projects are staffed correctly with the clients’ and customer staff.
Responsible for:
• Managing and driving project plans, schedules, budget and deliverables, including milestones reviews and mitigating schedule creep
• Managing and driving competing resourcing requests and multiple demands for concurrent client engagements
• Identifying and orchestrating the project activities of teams, including cross-functional customer and client stakeholders
• Driving project kick-off processes and planning so resources are available to the customer in a timely manner
• Tracking project progress and status in detail, highlighting risks, changes, and blockers, and identifying mitigation plans
• Driving project post mortems for management and clients
• Ensuring team follows quality and time management processes such as change controls and time tracking
• Documenting best practices for development and deployment of client solutions
Serving frontline resource for best practices and informal customer questions
• Five years + in customer-facing technical project management positions
• Experience managing databases, data warehouse, “Big Data” implementation and/or architecture
• Organizational skills and the ability to manage competing customer demands
• Experience presenting and interacting at an Executive level
• Able to travel
• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent
• PMP certified
• Experience with Agile
• Prior experience in a Professional Services or Consulting firm
