The Factory Automation Business Unit within Siemens has an open position as Technical Presales Consultant for Automation Engineering & OT/ IT Integration.

The Technical Presales Consultant is responsible for developing and realizing automation solutions and concepts as well as supporting customers and the Siemens sales force. The successful candidate has technical experience in automation plus exceptional communication and execution skills paired with exceptional organizational skills and business acumen to achieve goals on time.

Responsibilities:

Performs automation software design based on Industrial Edge in accordance with customer/project needs.
Supports international project teams and customers regarding OT/ IT integration using Industrial Edge for automation solutions based on the Siemens Factory Automation portfolio.
Creates Industrial Edge environments to implement, proof and test
the OT/ IT integration layer (Connectivity of shopfloor and factory applications)
already available Artificial Intelligence models.
Resolves complex technical challenges and acts as one escalation point for major customer technical issues.
Generates technical application examples and templates for reuse by others.
Supports knowledge transfer by creating and presenting technical presentation at customer side and conferences (Workshops and Webinars).

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering
Knowledge in handling LINUX, Docker, Kubernetes, Micro Services like a MQTT broker, Edge Computing and SQL data bases
Knowledge in programming with PYTHON, C/C++/C#, JAVA script and HTML
Knowledge in handling Neural networks using e.g., TENSOR FLOW and dealing with vision data.
Knowledge in handling networks in respect to security,
Experience in the machine building industry
Experience with Siemens or other automation systems
Experience in interaction with customers, suppliers, and other stake holders
Knowledge in documentation instructions in a GitHub environment and Office 365 in English language
Shift work, with rotation to be determined according to service needs at the time of onboarding.
