TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup that develops a cost-effective counter-drone solution to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers who combine expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.We are looking for a new team member who is eager to make a real difference! We are looking for a Technical Operations Engineer (f/m/d) to join our System Engineering team. You will be the on-site deployed engineer for our customer projects, supporting the full deployment lifecycle from contract initiation to implementation and go-live.
Your roadmap to make an impact:
• Act as the on-site deployed engineer for customer projects, supporting the full deployment lifecycle from contract initiation to implementation and go-live.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers: analyse operational requirements, translate them into system and integration solutions, by ensuring customer expectations.
• Plan and execute on-site installation, commissioning, testing, hand-over, customer training, and operational support - including adaptation to local infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and cultural requirements.
• Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships and support the company’s international growth strategy with a focus on expansion into new countries and markets.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues across hardware, software, networking, and mission operations using logs, telemetry, and hands-on debugging.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks during deployment planning and execution, working closely with logistics, operations, and engineering teams.
• Build internal knowledge through documentation, troubleshooting and deployment guides, and act as a trusted technical expert for deployed systems.
Who you are:
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field OR a or equivalent practical experience in complex technical systems.
• 3–7 years of experience in in technical operations, system integration, application engineering, field engineering, or similar roles involving hardware-software integrated systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders, internally and externally.
• High willingness to travel internationally, including extended on-site assignments, and adapting to new locations, cultures and operating conditions.
• Comfortable troubleshooting unstructured, cross-domain problems at the interface of software, embedded systems, networking, and hardware.
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and log analysis (e.g. Wireshark, PlotJuggler or similar).
• Customer- and mission-focused mindset and take ownership in representing the product and company in real-world deployments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
• Experience with UAVs, robotics, autonomy, mission software, or networking is a strong plus.
