Royal Joinery has its dedicated workshop to assist clients on high profile projects that require international expertise and a degree of workmanship that eliminates the need to source sub-contractors and third-party furniture suppliers. Our primary focus is on carpentry and woodwork specialties across a wide variety of projects and sectors through the delivery of sophisticated qualified experts in their field and innovative techniques and equipment.
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and managing all technical aspects of joinery and interior design projects. This role involves leading a team, ensuring design accuracy, coordinating with various stakeholders, and upholding quality standards. You will effectively manage the Technical Team to include Shop Drawing Production, Workshop Drawing Production, CNC Programming, Works Orders, Cutting Lists, Parts Lists, Material Submittal, RFI’s & Drawing Registers.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY / BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Overall Technical / Material and Design Department Management
• Lead and manage the technical / Material and design department, overseeing both project and factory aspects.
• Ensure efficient workflow and effective collaboration between design, production, and other relevant teams.
Shop Drawing Preparation and Coordination
• Prepare shop drawing schedules based on Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Interior Design (ID), and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings.
• Interpret 3D interior design sketches and provide clear instructions to draftsman.
• Assign tasks to draftsman for shop drawing and as-built drawing preparation.
• Coordinate production draftsman to generate production orders and cutting lists.
Quality Control and Approvals
• Check and approve shop drawings to ensure they adhere to design specifications and standards.
• Review and approve variation requests, collecting necessary documentation for the estimation department.
• Oversee the preparation of ironmongery schedules and materials requirements.
Coordination and Communication
• Coordinate site and factory activities to ensure seamless project execution.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and main contractors to address technical queries and ensure project alignment.
• Manage subcontractor coordination for elements such as steel, glass, and MEP.
Project Meetings and Documentation
• Attend project meetings and take responsibility for preparing accurate minutes of the meetings.
