We are looking for a Technical Edit Assistant to join Whisper Post, our in-house post-production team.
As well as general edit assistant duties, this role would also be responsible for providing essential technical support to the entire Post Production team and wider business, including editors, edit assistants and wider production team.
This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of media and data throughout the post-production department.
The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented, technically curious, and eager to learn the
foundational processes of a fast-paced post-production environment.

Key responsibilities
First line technical support to all post production hardware and software
System Maintenance: Assist in basic maintenance and troubleshooting of edit workstations (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid ProTools, DaVinci Resolve) and peripheral equipment.
Data Backups and Archiving: Execute secure data backups and data transfers according to established protocols, ensuring the integrity and redundancy of all project media. This includes LTO, NAS and Cloud platforms
Keeping up with new and evolving relevant technologies and workflows
Ingesting, media managing, syncing and prepping rushes
Obtain, ingest, transcode, convert all forms of media files for editing
Ensuring all media management is kept to the highest level of accuracy and detail
Keeping edit suites neat and tidy on a daily basis
Please note that responsibilities may be amended, added to, or removed to reflect the changing needs of the production or organisation.
Skills and Experience:
1 year of previous experience in a similar role within a post-production edit support department
Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
Mac experienced
Solid understanding of video files, codecs and their application
Familiarity with post-production workflows and technical infrastructure
Practical experience or understanding of media quality control would be a bonus
Basic knowledge of data storage systems (SAN/NAS/RAID) and backup procedures (e.g., LTO)
Basic understanding of IP networking
Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
Confident people with communication skills and problem-solving abilities
Up-to-date knowledge of new industry technologies
Location:
The base for this position will be Kew, London.
There is no opportunity to work remotely.
Working Day:
5 days a week, all office-based.
This role will require a degree of flexibility and weekend working.
You will be expected to work with the team to plan a schedule based on production requirements.
Lieu days will be given for any days worked over a five-day work week.
Start:
