Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Document Controller to support our digital construction
projects by managing and processing project documentation. This role is key to ensuring the integrity,
accuracy, and timely ingestion of project records including submittals, RFIs, and drawings. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing incoming documentation and inputting relevant data into our proprietary document control system, ensuring project stakeholders have access to the most current information at all times and understand the prerequisites and dependencies on their deliverables.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and log incoming construction documents such as submittals, shop drawings,
RFIs, and drawings.
Ensure documentation meets required standards and is compliant with project protocols before
processing.
Input and maintain accurate metadata and document details in our proprietary project management system.
Track document workflows and statuses to support timely reviews and approvals.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to resolve discrepancies or missing
information.
Generate and distribute document control reports, transmittals, and notifications as needed.
Maintain organized digital records and archives in accordance with company and project-specific
procedures.
Assist with audits, compliance checks, and quality control efforts related to document handling.
Generate regular reports on document status and progress for the Project Manager, Team Manager, and Deputy Team Manager.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with Document Management Systems (DMS) such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), SharePoint, or similar platforms like Bluebeam Studio Projects.
Familiarity with project management tools like ClickUp.
Knowledge of document numbering systems, version control, and file naming conventions.
Understanding of project workflows and review processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Effective time management and ability to multitask.
Adaptability to dynamic, fast-paced project environments.
Openness to learning and adopting new software or platforms for document handling.
Qualifications (Preferred)
Prior experience as a Document Controller or in a similar role within construction, engineering, or
architectural projects.
