Technical Director

Role Overview:

Parallelz is redefining what’s possible in mobile gaming by transforming native mobile apps into fully native web experiences that run instantly in the browser. We are hiring someone to bring alignment, focus, and operational clarity across our technical organization. You’ll manage the Platform and Infrastructure team, help connect efforts across engineering groups, and ensure smooth coordination between product goals and technical execution.

This is a leadership role for someone who operates with both technical and organizational depth. You’ll work closely with the CEO and senior engineers to plan, prioritize, and deliver effectively across teams. You should be comfortable engaging in technical discussions, understanding trade-offs, and helping our engineering teams navigate decisions. The ideal candidate can balance context, communication, and execution to keep the organization aligned and moving quickly.

Requirements:
• Based in the Greater Toronto Area and able to work 3-4 days/week in-office
• 5+ years of experience leading a team of 10+ engineers
• Full-time C/C++ experience in performance-critical (low-latency, parallel processing) systems
• Preferred: Experience reporting to a CEO and working at a pre-Series B startup
• Preferred: Full-time experience with a digital consumer product
• Preferred: Full-time experience at a deep-tech company (e.g., GPU, OS, Compiler/Runtime, or sophisticated game engine) focused on low-level systems or graphics architecture
• Preferred: Full-time experience as the designated technical owner/architect for a major production system
