A Technical Artist at Yggdrasil serves as a bridge between two worlds—artists and developers. This role requires a strong understanding of both areas of game production, including concepts such as pixel perfection, optimization, localization, and directory structure.
The ideal candidate is communicative, proactive, and not afraid of technical challenges or innovation. You’re someone who actively seeks new solutions to improve workflows and empower the team.
What You'll Do
• Collaborate with artists and programmers to ensure efficient asset integration in Unity
• Prepare assets for games and other Yggdrasil Gaming products (e.g., marketing materials)
• Handle game layout preparation and updates during production
• Work with source files from internal and external artists and designers
• Optimize images and animations, and export final graphics and assets
• Re-export (or recreate when needed) graphics for porting projects
• Partner with the development team to maintain optimal asset pipelines
• Collaborate with external art studios, providing guidance and technical validation
• Maintain and organize project folder structures
• Contribute to internal knowledge bases and best practices
• Manage and maintain historical game assets
Who You Are
• Experience working with Unity
• Familiarity with Git
• Strong technical 2D art skills
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
• Experience working with Spine (Esoteric Software)
• Experience collaborating with animators
• Experience working with external art studios
• Minimum 2 years of experience in art production
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Fluency in English
• Passion for games
Nice to Have
• Experience in game design, art, or development
• Previous iGaming industry experience
• Programming skills
• Experience with Unity shaders
 
Compensation
B2B contract: €1,000 – €1,200 gross per month
Compensation depends on experience, skill level, and demonstrated impact.
