Looking for Technical Application Administrator for some of our financial applications. (EPS, SMS, etc). Person would be responsible for doing application release deployments across non-prod & prod environments. Troubleshooting issues, Incident & Problem management support. The user-facing applications are java-based off the shelf products from Calidus and Counterpoint. Experience with Linux & WebLogic is a must. Experience with tools such as Splunk & App Dynamic and autosys is nice to have. Experience with Oracle database & PL/SQL is good to have. Currently moving pieces to new stack on Hadoop for data layer. Cloudera deployment experience would be excellent to have.
Responsibilities
• Be a highly energetic self-starter and work in a team atmosphere to categorize, prioritize and assist day to day activities
• Provide rapid troubleshooting and quick thinking skills to resolve impacting issues
• Demonstrate aptitude for learning new technologies
• Provide creative solutions to complex IT problems
• Provide day to day support of all production and non-production environments
• Support the team to ensure 99.99% availability on mission critical applications for both internal and external DIRECTV customers
• Participate in project team meeting sessions and provide task level feedback to the Project Manager or Project Lead
• Proactively monitor application performance, improve monitoring alerts, and overall availability of key business components in production environments
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a professional IT Role
• 3+ years OS experience with Linux / Windows
• 3+ years Administering Oracle WebLogic Server 9.x/10.x/11.x/12.x
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven experience with administrating 24/7 business critical applications
• Previous experience with any of the following products is also desired
• Microsoft IIS 5/6/7/8, Apache Web Server or jBoss
• Proficient with and keen understanding of J2EE applications and deployments
• Experience with wlst, ant, perl, shell or other scripting a plus
This opportunity is a Long Term Contract
