Position Overview

We are seeking a high-caliber Technical Accounting Manager to serve as a strategic bridge between complex regulatory frameworks and business operations. This role combines deep technical expertise in BACEN, IFRS with strong business acumen to ensure that accounting implications are embedded into decision-making from the outset.

As a key advisor to executive leadership and a partner to Finance, Product, Legal, and Risk, you will translate complex accounting standards into actionable business insights. You will lead the interpretation and application of accounting guidance for non-routine and high-impact transactions, new financial products, and strategic initiatives — safeguarding financial statement integrity, strengthening audit readiness, and enhancing the overall control environment.

Key Responsabilities

Technical Accounting & Advisory

• Provide expert technical accounting guidance to support business initiatives and daily operations.
• Research and interpret complex accounting standards and regulations (IFRS, COSIF, BACEN Circulars).
• Prepare formal technical accounting memos supporting accounting positions.
• Translate complex technical accounting matters into clear business implications for senior stakeholders.

Financial Reporting & Regulatory Compliance

• Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements (individual and consolidated).
• Ensure full compliance with BACEN regulatory requirements and IFRS standards.
• Support the correct technical implementation of accounting treatments in financial reporting processes.
• Present technical accounting conclusions and reporting impacts to senior management when required.

Audit & External Stakeholder Management

• Act as the main point of contact for external auditors on technical accounting matters.
Lead technical discussions, defend accounting positions, and support audit processes.
• Communicate technical positions clearly to external stakeholders, including auditors and consultants.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Operational Accounting and Reporting teams to ensure technical conclusions are properly embedded in day-to-day processes.
• Work closely with business areas and project teams to assess accounting implications of new products and initiatives.
• Support decision-making by explaining accounting impacts to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CRC license not required).
• Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of COSIF, BACEN regulations, and IFRS (specifically IFRS 9, 15, and 16).
• Experience: Proven experience in Financial Institutions, Big 4, or regulatory/consulting roles.
• Technical Writing: Solid experience in drafting technical accounting memos and financial disclosures.
• Languages: Fluent Portuguese and Advanced English are mandatory.
• Desirable: Knowledge of US GAAP and Spanish.
