Tech Lead Software Engineering for Cloud-based Industrial AI and Software Applications

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Head of the Research and Technology Center of Bosch Research in India, you will be the technical leader for our industrial, cloud-based AI applications. Your core responsibilities will include defining the end-to-end architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability, as well as creating the technical roadmap in collaboration with business and AI and software experts. You will guide the software engineering team across frontend, backend, and DevOps, steering the delivery of scalable, cloud-native solutions and transforming cutting-edge research into impactful, real-world products.

Key responsibilities:

·       Requirements Engineering: Elicitation, analyses, prioritization, specification, validation and management of requirements of cloud-based industrial AI and software applications.

·       End-to-end Architecture Design: Designing end-to-end architectures for cloud-based industrial AI and software applications considering e.g., performance, scalability, reliability, security, usability, maintainability, integrability, observability and business constraints.

·       Technical Roadmap: Elaboration, review and update of the technical roadmap with an interdisciplinary team from business, AI feature development and software engineering.

·       Development and Operational Excellence: Technical steering of the development and operation of industrial AI and software applications, including frontend, backend, cloud, data engineering, DevOps and AI feature integration. Ensuring an in time, spec and quality delivery according to best-practice development and operation standards.

·       Innovation: Innovating cloud-based industrial AI and software applications, based on a profound understanding of latest trends in software and AI architecture design and its software components.

·       Mentorship: Providing technical guidance to the software engineering team, foster knowledge and best practice sharing within the team.

·       Collaboration: Collaborating in an international, interdisciplinary team with AI, software engineering, business and domain experts.

·       Communication: Clearly communicating technical content to customers, technical and business teams as well as management.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

·       An advanced degree in software engineering, or a related technical field.

·       + 10 years of professional experience with a proven track record of delivering cloud-based, industrial AI and software applications in time, spec and quality.

·       Strong experience in building up and leading software engineering teams, also familiar with the integration of AI features.

·       Profound understanding of latest end-to-end architecture design principles for cloud-based, industrial AI and software applications as well as their software components.

·       Ability to drive technical innovation and inspire teams.

·       Excellent communication skills.

·       High experience in working in international, interdisciplinary teams.

·       Fluent in English. German language skills are a plus.

·       Experienced with cloud-based AI and software applications for manufacturing is a plus.
