In this role you’ll be leading a multi-functional agile team using a mixture of standard methodology, common sense and pragmatism. You will live and breathe Software Engineering; and have amazing people and communication skills. You should be excited by technology; grabbing chances to influence positive changes - and be able to instil this passion in others.
What will I be doing ? • You’ll be leading a driven, collaborative and agile team, comprising Software Engineers and QA Engineers, and will work alongside a Product Owner
• You will provide guidance, mentoring and coaching for the engineers in the team, and help drive improvements to technology and processes
• Crafting, developing and maintaining our products
• You'll contribute to key design decisions in collaboration with our Product Owners and other Tech Leads
• Drive innovation with new and interesting ideas for our products, services and processes that could add new value
• Collaborate by attending guilds and meetups, and sharing your knowledge and experience with others
• Knowledge of other languages such as Python or GoLang would be advantageous
• Much of our platform is written in Java, however we will adopt new technologies, and use whatever language is the best fit
Do you have the following experience? (it’s essential!) • You'll have demonstrable experience in building scalable and resilient enterprise web applications
• You'll be used to (and enjoy) working in high availability, high scale environments
• Java 7 and above
• Relational databases (e.g. MySQL)
• NoSQL Databases
• Working in and leading Agile teams
• Virtualization / container environments, e.g. Docker
Nice to haves:• Python
• Experience in cyber security
• Maven/Gradle/Go/Jenkins
• CloudConfig
• Practical experience of unit/integration testing using TDD
• Kubernetes
• AWS / Serverless computing
• SaaS Platform
• CI/CDHigh load, low latency
• Message based systems (JMS, RabbitMQ)
• SOLID principles
• JetBrains IDE
• Experience of Marketing Technology
