The role

Our Cloud Platform team empowers developers to build and deploy their applications swiftly, securely, and seamlessly. As the Technical Lead of our Cloud Platform team, you'll be responsible for Prolific's technical foundation, ensuring our infrastructure remains scalable, reliable, and ready for growth. You'll be a trusted technical expert to leaders and teams across Prolific, architect scalable cloud infrastructure solutions, and lead a team that enables rapid, secure delivery at scale.

What you’ll bring to the role

• GCP & Kubernetes Expertise: 5+ years with Google Cloud Platform, GKE, and the Kubernetes ecosystem with experience managing large-scale production clusters

• Cloud Platform Experience: Proven experience leading cloud platform initiatives, with expertise in architecting solutions.

• Developer-focused: Track record of designing golden paths and self-service solutions that reduce developer friction while maintaining security and compliance

• Technical Leadership: Proven ability to mentor engineers, drive technical decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders

• Compliance & Security: Experience implementing cloud compliance standards (SOC2, ISO-27001) and security best practices

It would be advantageous if you also had:

• People management experience

• Familiarity with GCP Security Command Center

• Experience with AWS and event driven distributed systems

• Experience with ArgoCD

What you’ll be doing in the role

• Leading the technical direction of Cloud Platform projects, ensuring the delivery of scalable, high-quality solutions, and providing guidance and mentorship to team members

• Design and architect robust Kubernetes and GCP solutions that enable rapid, secure application deployment.

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to product teams, engineering managers, and leadership on platform capabilities and constraints.

• Mentor platform engineers, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of operational excellence.

• Drive SOC2, ISO-27001, and security compliance initiatives across cloud environments.

• Make architectural decisions, participate in technical design discussions, and establish Cloud Platform engineering standards.

• Assisting in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members

• Collaborating with the Engineering Managers and other Technical Leads to develop and uphold good engineering standards and best practices

• Collaborating with stakeholders to define scope, timelines and required resources

• Cloud Platforms: Google Cloud Platform and AWS

• Programming Languages: Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript

• Frameworks: Vue.js, Django Rest Framework, Container-based and Serverless architectures

• Databases: MongoDB and DynamoDB

• DevOps and Monitoring: CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge and DataDog
