Your mission:
• Provide technical leadership and coordination for the software development activities within the Autonomous Flight team.
• Lead, mentor, and support software engineers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative engineering culture.
• Contribute to scaling the team, including recruiting, onboarding, and development of engineers.
• Guide the development of software systems related to UAV flight control, Sensor and actuator integration, communication systems, AI-based detect-and-avoid
• Support software architecture decisions and ensure robust, maintainable system design.
• Establish and continuously improve development processes, tools, and methodologies aligned with modern aerospace and safety-critical standards, e.g. DO178C, ASTM F3201, ISO26262.
• Ensure proper documentation, verification, and traceability of software in preparation for aviation certification.
• Collaborate closely with other SW development teams, systems engineering, eHW engineering, quality, flight test, product management and certification.
• Coordinate development activities with external partners and suppliers when required.
Your profile:
• Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in software development for robotics, embedded systems, or autonomous systems.
• Experience in technical leadership or team leadership within a software engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of autonomy, flight control, robotics, or embedded software systems.
• Experience with modern software engineering practices such as CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, and version control, incl. traceability over the full SDLC
• Experience with safety-critical or regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, automotive, robotics) is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of secure software development practices, including secure communication and networking, system hardening and threat awareness for embedded/autonomous systems and safe handling of data and interfaces in distributed systems.
• Ability to lead across multidisciplinary teams and drive engineering excellence.
