Job Description

Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. That’s what we offer. Over 130 years of unrivalled expertise in supplying the world with what it needs most. We envision a world that runs entirely on renewable energy. Because in the fight against climate change, we don’t see renewable energy as part of the solution – we believe it must be the solution. With us, you’ll shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match.

But there’s more work to be done – that’s why we need you to join us!

The Team Lead HR Business Partnering strengthens the leadership and effectiveness of HR Business Partnering in Germany by combining people leadership with hands-on HR Business Partner expertise.

The role ensures clear prioritisation, consistent advisory quality and sustainable HR delivery in a complex, transformation-driven environment, while continuing to provide focused HR Business Partner support to the business.

Working in close partnership with other Local HR functions, in particular HR Operations and Labour Law / Employee Relations, as well as Corporate HR, the role actively promotes collaboration, transparency and mutual enablement across all HR pillars.

This role is designed as a combined leadership and HR Business Partner position with an approximate 50/50 split between team leadership and HR Business Partnering.

1) Leadership & management of the HR Business Partner team

You have disciplinary and functional responsibility for the HR Business Partner team in Germany and ensure a consistent, high‑quality and business‑oriented HR Business Partnering approach across the organisation.

• Leading, coaching and developing the HR Business Partners, while fostering a trust‑based, collaborative “One Team” culture
• Setting clear priorities, actively steering workload and capacity, and ensuring focus on the most business‑critical and risk‑relevant topics
• Ensuring consistent advisory quality, governance, compliance and professional standards across HR Business Partnering
• Supporting and enabling the HRBP team in complex transformation, change and organisational situations
• Strengthening cooperation between HR Business Partnering, HR Operations and Labour Law / Employee Relations to deliver coherent, pragmatic and compliant solutions
• Contributing to a strong, trust‑based and solution‑oriented HR community with a shared focus on business impact and employee experience

2) HR Business Partnering

In parallel, you act as an HR Business Partner for a defined business scope in Germany, providing both strategic and operational HR support.

• Advising leaders across the full HR agenda, including leadership and talent development, succession planning, retention, compensation & benefits and organisational topics
• Translating business priorities into effective people and organisational solutions
• Advising on employee relations matters, policies, procedures and investigations, ensuring compliance with German labour law and internal regulations
• Maintaining a strong and constructive relationship with the works council and advising leaders on co‑determination topics
• Supporting and implementing global HR policies, standards and initiatives at local level
• Supporting workforce planning and staffing decisions and using HR data and people analytics for evidence‑based recommendations
• Actively contributing to change and transformation initiatives

• Extensive experience as an HR Business Partner, covering both strategic and operational HR topics
• Proven leadership experience, including coaching and developing professionals, setting clear priorities and steering delivery in complex environments
• Experience working in international, matrix organisations with complex stakeholder landscapes
• Strong track record in employee relations, advising leaders and handling sensitive and complex cases with sound judgement
• Strong business acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic, evidence‑based HR advice
• Clear prioritisation and execution strength, with the ability to balance leadership responsibilities and hands‑on HR Business Partnering
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills
• High level of integrity, resilience and discretion when dealing with challenging situations
• Strong collaboration mindset combined with a clear customer and business orientation
• Relevant university degree in Human Resources or a related field
• Fluent language skills in German and English, both written and spoken

Our vision is to renew the way the world is powered. To navigate the complex journey ahead, we need every voice at the table. We therefore work actively to be a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome all applicants regardless of background, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnicity, nationality or disability.

Statkraft offers competitive terms of employment and benefits schemes, and we’re a trusted employer that puts the safety of our people first. We believe that a safe and healthy working environment is a matter of choice, not chance.

Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. We conduct background checks on qualified applicants before hire. This may include a conflicts of interest statement from candidates.
