The Team

At blp, we create cutting-edge products for automated document processing. We have dedicated engineering teams for each product. The teams fully own their product, that means we understand the business problem that our product solves and own the roadmap how the product evolves.

What you’ll do

• Lead the team: Mentor and support team members in their professional growth, foster a healthy and collaborative team culture, and help shape how the team works together.

• Own Delivery and Outcomes: Take accountability for team deliverables, act as the escalation point when needed, and proactively communicate risks, trade-offs, and progress.

• Build and Operate Great Software: Design, implement, and maintain clean, reliable, and maintainable backend systems. Take responsibility for system behavior in production and continuously improve quality and stability.

• Shape Technical Direction: Drive backend architecture decisions, guide technical trade-offs, and ensure the system evolves in a scalable and maintainable way.

• Collaborate Across Roles: Work closely with frontend, ML, and product counterparts on feature discovery, solution design, and execution, ensuring shared understanding without blurring role responsibilities.

• Close the Gaps: Handle cross-functional tasks that don’t clearly belong to a single role, anticipate problems early, and help the team move forward pragmatically.

• The Tech Stack includes Golang, React/Typescript, Python, various ML models, MySQL, F#, Docker images deployed on a Kubernetes cluster in our cloud infrastructure (GCS, AWS or Azure) and Github CI/CD.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role, with demonstrated ownership of complex systems in production.

• Experience leading, mentoring, or acting as a technical reference point for other engineers (formal line management experience is a plus, but not required).

• Passionate about software craftsmanship: Strong understanding of software development principles, Clean Code and Clean Architecture.

• Comfort making technical trade-offs in evolving product environments, balancing speed, quality, and scope.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially when collaborating across disciplines and explaining technical decisions

• Product thinking: Ability to translate business problems into precise requirements, specifications and ultimately into code.

• Entrepreneurial mindset: link your daily work to team and company goals, balance cost and benefit, deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.

• Ownership: take responsibility for your technical work, for the product we build and the team we shape.

• Team-oriented: proactively support team goals, close gaps.
