Who Are We Looking For?

Mobiz is seeking a Team Lead, Backend Development with a strong technical background and leadership capability to drive backend architecture and development. This role requires hands-on expertise in Python-based backend systems, experience leading teams, and active involvement in GenAI and LLM-driven product development.
You will be responsible for technical direction, mentoring engineers, and ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, and AI-enabled backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of scalable backend architectures using Python, FastAPI, and Django.

Own and review backend system design, performance, security, and scalability.

Drive backend integrations for GenAI and LLM-based applications, including AI services and APIs.

Collaborate with product, AI, and front-end teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Mentor, guide, and conduct code reviews for backend engineers.

Manage and support backend teams, including task allocation, performance guidance, and career development.

Ensure best practices in coding standards, testing, deployment, and documentation.

Oversee cloud deployments and backend infrastructure in Azure or AWS.

Troubleshoot high-impact production issues and ensure system reliability.

Stay informed on advancements in backend engineering, cloud, and AI technologies.

Leverage AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to improve development efficiency, code quality, and team productivity where applicable.

Work closely with global clients and cross-regional stakeholders to align technical delivery with business expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Minimum 6+ years of backend development experience with Python.

Prior experience in a technical leadership or team lead role.

Proven experience in team management and collaboration with international/global clients.

Required Skills

Expert knowledge of backend development, RESTful APIs, and system architecture.

Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI and/or Django.

Experience working with GenAI, LLMs, or AI-powered backend systems.

Experience using AI-assisted development tools / coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar in professional development workflows.

Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

Strong cloud experience (Azure preferred; AWS acceptable).

Experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines (Docker, Azure DevOps).

Deep understanding of backend security best practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including coordination with global teams and clients.
