The department of Bioengineering is hiring a Teaching Assistant for BBME 681 Internship summer 2026 course.
Position Summary:
BBME 681- Internship 1, 85 hours, 1 position
This course is in the form of a joint student internship program between industry and academic partners. The purpose of the internship is to expose the students to process development, Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT), project management and regulatory compliance in the biomanufacturing ecosystem. Through the internship course, the M.Eng. graduate students gain comprehensive hands-on training for professional readiness and exposure in biomanufacturing, including at laboratories, pilot plants, and production facilities.
Main responsibilities:
• Assist the Academic mentors with grade management for the various course deliverables. The deliverables include internship project proposal, reports, and oral presentations.
• Assist the course coordinator in preparing evaluation mechanisms for the various deliverables.
• Communicate with students and Academic mentors on MyCourses.
Qualifications:
• Currently a Master's or a PhD student. Experience in bioengineering, biological and biomedical engineering is an asset, but not required.
• Domain knowledge in one or more of the following subject areas is preferred: biomanufacturing, cell culture engineering, downstream processing approaches or previous knowledge of protein purification techniques and tools.
• Project management skills will be an asset but not mandatory. Prior lab experiences in related areas can be useful.
