The teacher will be responsible for the delivery of engineering subjects within the Diploma of Engineering programs at Deakin College.
This role includes teaching, providing academic support to students, exam / test supervision and marking of assignments and exams.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
• High quality delivery of program materials resulting in strong academic outcomes and student satisfaction, including preparation of classes and associated materials.
• Intensive support for students to ensure strong academic outcomes and student satisfaction, directing students to the Student Counsellor or Academic Skills Advisor as required.
• Maintaining up to date and in depth knowledge of the discipline being taught through publications, professional associations and professional development activities.
• Supervision and marking of assignments and exams.
• Complete other tasks relating to the teaching function as required, including attendance at meetings and professional development activities, relevant administrative processes, assistance at orientation, graduation and other social activities.
• Extensive experience teaching higher education diplomas in a university pathway program in the above-mentioned areas
• Experience with a learning management system (preferably Moodle) to assist and enhance the delivery of subject content
• A comprehensive understanding of pathway programs and their articulation with university courses
• Demonstrated understanding of and empathy for a multicultural environment
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team, independently and initiate change
• Demonstrated ability to work with changing priorities and meeting deadlines
