Are you a highly skilled tax professional who thrives on complex individual tax work and enjoys developing others?

Etax is seeking an experienced Tax Specialist to play a critical role in reviewing complex individual tax returns, delivering technical tax training, and supporting and supervising our seasonal complex team.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who brings strong tax knowledge, sound judgement, and a calm, collaborative leadership style.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

Conduct primary reviews of complex individual tax returns, and secondary reviews where registered as a Tax Agent

Ensure accuracy, compliance, and supporting documentation in line with ATO and TPB requirements

Act as a technical escalation point for complex tax matters raised by accountants

Develop and deliver training on technical tax topics, ATO updates, and legislative changes

Coach, mentor, and support Team Lead Accountants, identifying development and training gaps

Help with supervising and supporting the seasonal complex tax team, ensuring quality, consistency, and service standards

Maintain high-quality client communication and contribute to excellent customer outcomes

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor of Accounting (or similar)

5+ years’ experience lodging and reviewing individual tax returns

Registered Tax Agent (or working towards registration)

Strong expertise in complex individual tax matters, including:

Sole traders (>$75k turnover)

Property sales and multiple rental properties

Share trading and high-volume disposals

Ride-sharing income and CFDs

Proven ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and confidently

Experience delivering or contributing to technical training and mentoring

High attention to detail, strong judgement, and the ability to meet strict KPIs
