Position Summary

Focus Financial Partners is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Tax Senior Associate to join our expanding tax team in our New Hyde Park office (hybrid - 3 days in). This role is ideal for a professional with 2–3 years of experience who’s ready to deepen their expertise in corporate and partnership taxation within a dynamic, high-growth financial services environment.

As a key member of our tax function, you’ll partner closely with internal finance teams and external advisors to support the full spectrum of federal, state, and local tax compliance. You will take meaningful ownership of preparing and reviewing tax filings, contribute to income tax provision work, and participate in tax research, audits, and strategic projects.

This position offers hands-on experience with complex entities, direct collaboration with experienced tax leaders, and strong opportunities for career advancement as part of a motivated and high-performing team.

This role can be located in New Hyde Park, NY; New York, NY.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and review the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations and partnerships in collaboration with external preparers.

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions (ASC 740) and related financial statement disclosures.

• Partner with subsidiary firms to gather data, address tax-related inquiries, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.

• Conduct tax research and analysis to maintain compliance with current tax laws and identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements.

• Support tax audits and examinations by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.

• Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to team members and stakeholders.

• Maintain organized and compliant tax documentation, ensuring alignment with internal controls and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA and/or MST is a plus.

• 2+ years of experience in tax preparation, compliance, and advisory services for a public accounting firm or large multinational entity.

• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Experience in partnership and consolidate corporate returns a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.

• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with finance colleagues.

This position is an exempt position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $100,000-$115,000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
