Mitek Systems is seeking a Tax Manager reporting to the CFO. This position will be responsible for US indirect tax filings and tax notices. The ideal candidate will have an indirect tax background.
What You’ll Do (Essential Responsibilities) :
•
Maintain a tax calendar of required domestic compliance for indirect taxes (including Sales & Use, franchise and property taxes).
•
Assist legal department with Annual Report filings.
•
Review of Sales & Use Tax returns.
•
Preparation of Personal Property tax returns.
•
Preparation of Sales & Use tax account reconciliations.
•
Completion of registration forms for newly established entities.
•
Manage, monitor and maintain log of notices from and responses to taxing authorities.
•
Assist with audits of indirect taxes.
•
Preparation of W-8, W-8BENs, etc.
•
Work with accounting teams to settle intercompany balances.
•
Assist other members of Tax issues which arise in the day-to-day operations.
•
Assist in global tax strategy as needed.

What You Need (Qualifications):
•
Knowledge and skills typically associated with at least three years accounting experience
•
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
•
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
•
Proficient in NetSuite or similar ERP
•
Working knowledge of Avalara Tax or other sales tax solutions
•
Strong knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
