Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Tax Manager for a growing and dynamic Public Accounting Firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a seasoned tax professional looking to move beyond preparation into high-level engagement management. You will be responsible for overseeing complex tax workflows across a diverse portfolio of entities, including corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. As a core mentor to the junior staff, you will drive technical excellence and provide expert advisory services directly to clients. This role offers a perfect balance of professional challenge and modern flexibility through a stable hybrid work model.
Job Responsibilities
• Engagement Management: Oversee and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring all federal and state deadlines are met with precision.
• Technical Review: Conduct high-level reviews of staff-prepared returns for a variety of entities, including 1065, 1120, 1120S, 990, 1040, and 1041.
• Client Advisory: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance on tax planning, information gathering, and regulatory compliance.
• Staff Development: Review staff work and provide actionable, constructive feedback to mentor junior accountants and support their technical growth.
• Complex Research: Research and resolve sophisticated tax issues and multi-state filing requirements with confidence and accuracy.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay at the forefront of changing tax laws and TCJA updates to ensure the firm and its clients remain fully compliant.
Requirements:
Education & Licensing
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is REQUIRED.
• CPA License is preferred (or demonstrated progress toward completion).
• Master’s in Taxation (MST) is a significant advantage.
Experience
• Minimum of four (4) or more years of Public Accounting experience is REQUIRED.
• Strong background in both the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns.
• Proven experience managing multiple client accounts in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
