The Tactical Buyer Manager is responsible for a team of Tactical Buyers, and solely responsible for all the duties of a Tactical Buyer/Supplier in their area.
This role requires a great deal of autonomy in terms of organising the work and strictly adhering to the legal rules and the Thales process.
The Tactical Buyer Manager provides general supervision and instructional guidance to the Tactical Buyer team and will manage a team of 8 to 10 people.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Tactical Buyer Team Manager, you are accountable to:
• Manage purchase requisitions and ensure their compliance is verified
• Ensure consultation of suppliers on the panel, analyse quotes and select the best offer
• Manage the transformation of purchase requests into orders, and ensure the order book is managed
• Guarantee the performance of the physical flow and associated information in terms of external/internal input-output in accordance with the needs expressed by the internal customer
• Share business forecasts with suppliers and analyse risks
• Apply continuous improvement methods to enhance operations and to coordinate key profile routines
• Contribute to the optimal deployment and improvement of industrial tools and processes (ERP [Enterprise Resource Planning], Chorus, etc.) and ensure the application of best practices in planning and execution.
• Monitor internal customer satisfaction indicators, and initiate corrective action if necessary
• Manage the interfaces of the entity (other Thales sites, Purchasing, Scheduling, Accounts payable, Trade Compliance, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with the regulatory framework for incoming and outgoing flows
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
• Engineering Degree or equivalent (starting with more than 5 years' experience), or, Bachelor’s Degree Diploma with around 10 years' experience.
• Routine use of ERP and understanding of the underlying logic
• Basic knowledge of Production and Repair processes
• Basic knowledge of products and their manufacturing or repair processes
• Knowledge of supply chain roles
• Knowledge of inventory management and flow management methodologies
• Practice of analytical and problem-solving techniques
• Knowledge of industrial/supply chain IT system and use of dashboards (analysis, decision support, etc.)
• Use of analysis and decision support dashboards
GOOD TO KNOW
Prior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks. Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain NV1 security clearance.

The U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
