Overview
A Systems Integration Engineer serves as a critical connector across the organization, ensuring both systems and teams operate in alignment. This role bridges departments by translating business needs into seamless system interactions, enabling consistent, reliable data flow and shared visibility across the company. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, clear communication, and the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex, multi-team processes.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy integrations between business systems (CRM, ERP, HRIS, hospitality platforms, etc.) using iPaaS tools
Implement robust error handling, logging, and alerting to ensure high reliability and quick issue resolution
Monitor integration performance and proactively identify and resolve failures or data inconsistencies
Build and maintain data transformation logic to ensure clean, standardized data across systems
Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical integration solutions
Maintain documentation for integrations, data mappings, and workflows
Continuously optimize integrations for performance, scalability, and maintainability
Support system upgrades, new software implementations, and integration expansions
Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in systems integration, middleware, or API development
Hands-on experience with iPaaS platforms (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato, etc.)
Strong understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP), webhooks, and data formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
Experience with error handling, monitoring, and logging frameworks
Solid understanding of data structures, data mapping, and transformation techniques
Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues across multiple systems
Strong documentation and communication skills
