Title: Systems Engineer – Marine & Stationary Power Generation
Location: GE Transportation (A Wabtec Company) - Erie, PA
Job Description:
We’re seeking a dynamic Engineer to manage NPI System projects. This project-level engineer will support the design, review and improvement of engine system controllers. This position manages the overall life cycle process from initial concept through to implementation. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with internal engineering departments and external component suppliers to execute assigned projects. The candidate should have a solid engineering background and proven experience leading various complex design projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ability to work constructively in a fast-paced, team-based environment, accommodating shifting priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Works within defined parameters to make decisions and apply concepts to issues of high complexity.
- Provides direction to meet assigned objectives.
- Document technical data for projects consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Develops and fulfills the engineering planning for assigned projects.
- Supports advanced design and development of components utilized in control systems.
- Drive cross-functional teams to execute on critical project milestones, including but not limited to, design reviews, material orders, prototype builds, prototype testing and launch.
Desired Skills:
- 5 to 10 yrs of experience with managing multiple design projects.
- Previous experience working with engine controls (ECUs, control panels etc.)
- Ability to create and use DFMEAs, V&V matrices, etc. in a tollgate review environment.
- Experience with GD&T, general mfg. processes, prototyping and Six Sigma.
- Experience in mechanical design and validation for control systems.
- Bonus Skill familiarity or hands-on experience with diesel engines.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or STEM degree with relative experience.
