Systems Engineer (JIRA)

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as Systems Engineer with strong JIRA experience. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.

Responsibilities:
• Analyzes system requirements and ensures integration of hardware, software, and network components.
• Builds and develops system architectures, engineering plans, and technical documentation.
• Implements and manages system configurations, security protocols, and operating environments.
• Installs, configures, tests, and maintains operating systems and application software.
• Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to development and deployment
• Performs system upgrades and migrations
• Monitors system performance and recommends improvements for efficiency, scalability and security
• Creates and maintains documentation, including diagrams procedures and user manuals.
• Ensures compliance with cybersecurity policies and federal IT standards.
• Tests, integrates, and validates system activities.
• Collaborate with technical team and stakeholders to ensure timelines and goals are met
• Producing briefings for leadership on a timely and regular basis

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or IT
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, administration, or IT infrastructure support.
• ITIL, Atlassian (JIRA) Certification preferred
• Ability to work on site 5 days a week
• Previous testing, configuration and security implementation experience
• Experience monitoring systems to evaluate security, recommend options for scalability and efficiency
• Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation and user manuals
• Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance, federal IT policies and standards
• Ability to hold and maintain a Top Secret Clearance

Salaries for Systems Engineers with JIRA Certification at Planet Technologies range from $130,000 and $170,000. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.
