Your Mission::
We are building the next generation of high-performance satellites right here in Germany. Join a team
with a combined experience of 40+ successful space missions and take ownership of defining and ensuring flawless satellite operations in orbit — from launch through commissioning to customer handover.
As Systems Engineer for Mission Operations, you will architect and oversee the mission operations concept for Reflex satellites, ensuring operational excellence, scalability, and long-term autonomy.
• Define and oversee all mission operations activities, including Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP), commissioning, and routine operations.
• Act as the primary interface for operations-related matters with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
• Lead the system architecture and integration of our in-house mission operations toolchain, coordinating development and collaboration with external software providers.
• Develop and refine operations procedures and workflows, ensuring consistency across missions and readiness for future scaling.
• Drive the transition from ground testing to on-orbit operations, working closely with systems engineering and AIT teams.
• Oversee mission control software selection and evaluation, including RFI/RFP/RFQ preparation, supplier assessment, and roadmap planning.
• Oversee and coordinate the handover process to customers, ensuring a seamless transition to operational service.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and system teams to embed operational requirements early in the development lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain clear operations documentation, plans and reports.
Your Background::
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in satellite mission operations, including LEOP and commissioning, with strong understanding of ground segment architectures.
• Strong grasp of mission operations software, automation, and data workflows.
• Experience designing and integrating mission operations or ground system software, with proficiency in Python or comparable languages.
• Familiarity with the full satellite development lifecycle — from Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) through in-orbit validation to final handover to the customer or third-party operator.
• Experience managing suppliers and leading procurement processes is a plus.
• Motivated to shape in-house mission operations capabilities and grow into a mission operations lead role.
What We Offer::
• Collaborate with a diverse multinational team crafting the next wave of cutting-edge satellites. Embark on this exciting journey with us from the outset, leaving your indelible mark on a dynamic company and playing a direct role in shaping the future of the space industry.
