Systems Engineer

Dijital Team is looking for a Systems Engineer for their client based in New Zealand. This role supports the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of core infrastructure systems. It involves managing virtual environments, leading migration initiatives, and ensuring stable and secure operations across both on-premise and cloud environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining reliable infrastructure performance while contributing to ongoing system enhancements and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain, support and optimise VMware, Citrix and Proxmox environments
• Manage Windows Server administration, including configuration, updates and troubleshooting
• Plan and execute system migrations with minimal disruption to services
• Monitor infrastructure performance and address issues proactively
• Support backup, storage and recovery processes
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Work with internal teams to deliver improvements and resolve escalated issues
• Contribute to ongoing security and compliance practices

Required Experience/Skills :
• Strong background in systems engineering across virtualised and on-premises environment
• Hands on experience with VMware, Citrix and Proxmox
• Proven Windows Server administration experience
• Demonstrated success delivering infrastructure or platform migrations
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, monitoring tools and storage technologies
• Experience working in structured change and incident management processes Certifications [highly regarded]
• VMware VCP
• Citrix Associate or Professional level certification
• Microsoft certification in Windows Server or cloud technologies
• Linux or virtualization related certification
