Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administering enterprise-level infrastructure, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, corporate applications, VMware ESX, AWS, and Azure AD. This role focuses on the ongoing operation, support, and security of our IT systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Active Directory Administration
Administer and maintain Active Directory environments, including Group Policy, user accounts, and directory synchronization.
Manage domain controllers and DNS configurations.
Perform security audits and manage access controls.
Microsoft 365 Administration
Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
Oversee tenant configurations, licensing, and user management.
Troubleshoot and resolve Microsoft 365-related issues.
Corporate Applications Support
Maintain the stability and performance of business-critical applications.
Work with application owners and vendors for updates and issue resolution.
Monitor and optimize application infrastructure.
Virtualization (VMware ESX)
Administer and maintain VMware ESX environments, including virtual machines and storage.
Monitor system performance and assist with capacity planning.
Support backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Cloud Services (AWS & Azure AD)
Support infrastructure hosted in AWS, including storage and IAM configurations.
Administer Azure Active Directory for identity, SSO, MFA, and conditional access.
Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices.
System Security
Apply and enforce security best practices across systems and applications.
Perform routine updates, patches, and maintenance.
Assist with security audits and compliance reporting.
Infrastructure Monitoring & Maintenance
Proactively monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Manage patching, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
Maintain accurate technical documentation.
Collaboration & Support
Provide Level 2/3 support for escalated technical issues.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives.
Mentor junior IT staff and assist with training.
Provide end-user support when required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in system administration with hands-on knowledge of:
Active Directory and Azure AD
Microsoft 365 administration
VMware ESX environments
AWS cloud services
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Relevant certifications (Microsoft, AWS, VMware) are a plus.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and compliance standards.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and IT service management frameworks.
