Job Title: Client Portfolio Analyst, Systematic Equity Investments

Location: Bangalore

Job Summary:

The Portfolio Analyst is part of the Client Portfolio Management team who act as facilitators between the investment/portfolio management teams and the sales and client facing teams. The analyst is responsible for providing standardized and custom information about investment strategies to both internal (sales, client service, etc.) and external groups.  These communications typically take the form of client presentation materials, analysis of portfolios characteristics such as performance, attribution and written commentary or RFP responses. Portfolio Analysts also play an active and important role in supporting the day to day activities of SSIM’s Portfolio Specialists.

The hierarchy is from senior to Junior

Portfolio Strategists à Portfolio Specialists à Portfolio Analysts.

Key activities of a portfolio analyst include-

• Production and maintenance of high quality support collateral including:• Prospective client presentations
• Client Review Decks
• Client/Marketing letters & other collateral
• DDQ, RFP and ad-hoc inquiry support attached to indexed fixed income strategies
• Recurring general and client specific commentaries related to market moves and impact

• Tracking of book of business, new business pipeline activity, analyzing industry and client flows.
• Insightful analysis of portfolio performance and attribution, linking it with country and region specific events and economic data releases.
• Assisting specialists and strategists in client specific ad-hoc analysis.
• Assist in creating efficient processes for recurring deliverables, and try to get them automated
• Areas of primary focus: Indexed Equity.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of overall experience in the financial services industry. Equity experience an added plus.
• Attainment of an degree in business or finance, and/or progress towards a CFA/FRM designation is a strong plus.
• Excellent excel quantitative skills are required, in particular the ability to analyze and evaluate large sets of numerical data and present and explain findings. Exposure to Python is an added advantage.
• Previous experience working with financial software (Bloomberg, FactSet), any other proprietary attribution tools.
• Basic understanding of how an Asset manager works, and the various types of financial products (pooled vehicles, ETFs, mandates) and services offered by them.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, rigorous attention to detail, ability to work independently without constant supervision, yet also maintain strong relationship across counterparts globally.
