We are currently seeking a System Verification & Test Engineering Specialist to join our Ottawa based team with regular travel to our testing locations mainly in the United States!
What will you be doing?
Execute hardware, software, and system-level verification tests
Develop and run test procedures for mechanical, electronic systems, and software
Support integration testing of sensors, avionics, and actuators
Assist with field testing, including ground tests and flight tests
Participate in testing at external facilities for: Environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock); EMI/EMC testing and troubleshooting
Collect, analyze, and document test data and results
Identify anomalies, support root-cause analysis, and track issues through to closure
Maintain test documentation, reports, and requirements traceability
Provide engineering-level production support, including: Investigating complex hardware, software, or system failures after basic troubleshooting has been exhausted
Performing root-cause analysis using logs, schematics, test data, and instrumentation
Reproducing field or production issues in the lab and defining corrective actions
Working with design and manufacturing teams to implement and verify fixes
Field testing work, including trips to US field test locations, external environmental and EMI/EMC test facilities etc with expected travel of 10–25%
What do we need from you?
A 3-year college diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Strong experience in test, verification, or integration roles
Familiarity with embedded systems, including microcontrollers, sensors, and power systems
Basic experience with software testing using C/C++, Python, or similar languages
Proficiency with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition systems (DAQs)
Exposure to system-level testing of aerospace or autonomous systems would be an asset
Experience with environmental testing such as thermal chambers, vibration tables would also be helpful
Familiarity with EMI/EMC testing concepts and mitigation
Understanding of requirements-based verification and test documentation
Willingness and ability to support hands-on field testing and travel as required nationally and international (mainly US) up to 25%
Travel may include multi-day test campaigns and occasional work outdoors or in industrial test environments
