Job Purpose
This role supports the Power Services division by leading the design, testing, and commissioning of system protection, control, and communication systems. You’ll be responsible for developing protection schemes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting field commissioning activities that directly impact system reliability, project performance, and customer satisfaction. Success in this role means delivering accurate designs, dependable field execution, and clear technical documentation—all while upholding KE’s commitment to Safety, People, Passion, and Performance. What You’ll Do
You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities may include:
System Protection Design (30%)
• Lead the electrical design of system protection and control projects
• Design and develop communication systems
• Develop one‑line diagrams, layout plans, and interconnection strategies
• Create protective device and communication device setting files
• Develop, organize, and maintain technical documentation
• Ensure all system designs meet applicable codes and standards
• Review, analyze, and interpret sequence‑of‑events data for system trips or anomalies
Regulatory Compliance (15%)
• Develop standards and processes for regulatory compliance reviews
• Create testing and commissioning procedures for regulatory requirements such as NERC PRC‑005
• Develop, organize, and maintain compliance documentation
Field Support (55%)
• Lead and support protection and control commissioning projects
• Support testing and maintenance activities
• Design test plans and technical specifications for testing and commissioning work
What You Bring
You’re someone who shows up ready to work hard, learn fast, and contribute to a team that takes pride in doing things right. Successful candidates typically bring:
• 3+ years of experience in electrical protection systems design, testing, or implementation
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
• Proficiency with design and project management tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, or MS Project
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• PE license or ability to obtain one is a strong plus
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
Pay Range
We believe in paying for the value you bring to the team, and we aim to be competitive in every market we hire in.
Pay Range: $98,880-$111,240, plus incentive opportunities, or additional compensation.
