System Engineer Backup/Automation

We are an international team working across multiple locations, bringing together diverse perspectives to drive impactful solutions.

We are looking for a bright mind to help us move forward. In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues around the globe, various business units, and both internal and external clients.

What You Will Do

Engineer, design, install, upgrade, and maintain enterprise backup solutions based on NetBackup, Networker, Data Domain, Tape Libraries and Cyber Recovery solutions
Architect end‑to‑end backup and recovery solutions, including capacity planning, performance tuning, security, and high‑availability concepts
Drive automation initiatives, leveraging APIs, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, Python, and other automation frameworks to improve reliability and efficiency
Troubleshoot complex backup, storage, and network‑related issues, providing senior-level expertise and collaborating with peers to drive solutions
Ensure proper Identity and Access Management across backup platforms, including role management, credential handling, and compliance alignment
Develop documentation, reports, and monitoring/logging dashboards, using Elastic to provide transparency and insights for stakeholders

What You Bring

A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a comparable position
Strong hands‑on engineering experience with enterprise backup technologies (preferably NetBackup, Networker, Data Domain; PPDM or Cohesity is a plus)
Deep knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and strong scripting skills (Python, Bash; GitLab/GitHub workflows)
Experience designing or architecting backup, data‑protection, or infrastructure solutions, ideally in complex and regulated environments
Solid understanding of API integration, automation tooling, IaC principles, and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently own and drive topics end‑to‑end
Strong communication skills and very good verbal and written English, with the ability to produce clear documentation and engage effectively with customers.
