REPORTING TO: Chief Technology Executive

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, 8am- 5pm(NO OPTION FOR REMOTE OR

HYBRID)

SALARY: 180,000 – 250,000(Net)

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator with experience in Hyper-V

virtualization technologies to join our infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will

manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based server environments while

ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our virtualized infrastructure. This

role involves collaboration with other IT professionals to ensure seamless delivery of

IT services and support for business operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Server Administration

• Install, configure, and manage Windows Server 2022/2025 operating

systems.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, updates, and firmware

upgrades.

• Monitor server health, resource utilization, printers, backups and resolve

system alerts.

• Ensure Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies are properly

configured and optimized.

• Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.

Hyper-V Administration

• Design, implement, and manage virtual environments

• Configure and maintain virtual machines (VMs), templates, and snapshots.

• Optimize VM’s; resource allocation, load balancing, and performance.

Powering Movement, Empowering Africans

• Troubleshoot VMware-related issues, such as cluster configuration and VM

connectivity.

• Monitor and maintain Hyper-V HA and DRS functionalities.

Security and Compliance

• Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures for Windows and

VM systems.

• Perform security assessments and vulnerability management on servers and

virtual environments.

• Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.

Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks on both physical and virtual

servers.

• Analyse system logs and provide timely resolution for technical issues.

• Collaborate with the network and storage teams for integrated IT support.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for server and virtualization configurations,

processes, and policies.

• Provide regular reports on system performance, capacity planning, and

uptime metrics.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Technical Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server OS (2019/2022) and services like

Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.

3- 5 years experience

• Proficiency with Virtualization technologies, including Hyper-V.

• Familiarity with NAS storage systems in a virtualized environment.

• Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools.

• Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.

• Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, etc.) and firewall

configurations.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related

field (or equivalent experience).

• Relevant certifications in Windows Systems administration are highly

desirable.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Windows/Unix systems Administrator.

• Proven track record in system upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting in

complex IT environments.

Work Environment:

• Availability to work outside of standard hours for maintenance, upgrades, or

emergencies.

• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as needed.

Preferred Skills (Optional):

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS in hybrid setups.

• Exposure to VMware, vSphere, ESXi or other virtualization platforms.
